Asamoah Gyan: In Sunderland.
Gyan scored three goals for his country at the 2010 World Cup, but has sought a move away from French side Rennes after growing unsettled.
Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is keen to bolster his frontline after selling Kenwyne Jones to Stoke for £8 million and a deal reported to be around £12 million could be done if personal terms are agreed.
The 24-year-old joined Rennes from Udinese in 2008 and he has scored 14 goals for the club.
