As many as 3,000 Vietnamese youth are visiting China’s southern province of Guangxi under a five-day exchange program beginning Wednesday.
Under the China-Vietnam youth exchange program that marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Vietnamese youth are divided into seven groups, with each one visiting one of the seven cities - Qinzhou, Liuzhou, Guilin, Fangchenggang, Beihai, Baise and Chongzuo.
At a dinner in Qinzhou, the city’s party secretary Zhang Xiao Qin said, “Vietnam is developing strongly and has obtained great achievements; Vietnamese people’s lives are improving and Vietnam’s positition gets more and more important in the world”.
Nguyen Anh Tuan, head of the Vietnamese group visiting Qinzhou, said the program would help young people from both countries better understand each other, contributing to boost bilateral cooperation.
Tuan also said the number of Vietnamese youth participating in the program was the highest this year.
After visiting the cities, the groups will gather on August 28 at Nanning, capital of the Guangxi autonomous region, to take part in several activites including tree-planting and an exchange festival.
